Contemporary Modern Dance Company Examines The Recurring Theme Of Change
The Noble Douglas Dance Company Inc. (NDDCI) presents its 2012 dance season, Transition. NDDCI’s latest production reflects the on-going theme of change which the company faces as it strives to maintain a small tight unit of committed dancers. The show opens tonight, Saturday October 20, 2012 at 7:30 p.m., at Queen’s Hall and continues tomorrow, Sunday October 21, 2012 at 5:30 p.m.
In examining the theme, the NDDCI’s founder and artistic director, Noble Douglas, shared, “this concept alludes to the inevitable tide of change…the flux…the shift…the evolution that the company invariably faces from season to season as dancers come and go with the ebb and flow of life.”
NDDCI’s newest offering will feature the choreography of Noble Douglas; Norway-based, Jeffrey Carter; Allan Balfour; Dave Williams; Arlene Frank; Malvani Seelal Alexander; Sherid Mason; and Sunil. Performing both new and old works, the company’s veterans will be joined by a cadre of young dancers to present a dynamic two nights of contemporary modern dance.
Tickets are priced at $150.00 and are available at the Queen’s Hall box office. Part of the proceeds from ticket sales will benefit the Noble Douglas Lilliput Foundation for the Arts (NDLFA), which launched at a private function last night at Queen’s Hall.
